Jammu/ April,27 : Protesters amid shutdown called by Sanathan Dharam against the killing of RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma and Parhar brothers in Kishtwar town in recent months marched to the office of Deputy Commissioner on Saturday and damaged his office besides burning the effigy of Governor Satya Pal Malik for his administration’s alleged failure in arresting the culprits of the killers of Chandrakant Sharma and as well as Parihar brothers .
Reports and witnesses said that hundreds of people marched from police chowk to the mini secretariat to protest against the alleged failure of the administration to nab the killers of RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma and Parihar brothers. The slogan shouting violent crowd hurled stones on the mini-secretariat, smashed windowpanes and doors of the building.
An official said that the columns of the police, CRPF and ITBP were rushed to the spot who dispersed the protesters.The protest was held amid a shutdown called by the Sanathan Dharam. As already reported restrictions under 144 CrPC were imposed in the area three days ago.
RSS leader Chandrakant Sharma was shot dead along with his personal security officer on April 9. Anil Parihar, 53, and his brother Ajit were returning home when two unidentified gunmen shot them at point-blank range in Kishtwar town in November last year. The killings triggered angry protests in the communally sensitive district.
