Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police has withdrawn vehicle from a BJP leader and ordered inquiry how it (vehicle) was used for distribution of food packets during a political rally in Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency (PC), a police spokesman said without naming any political party said here on Saturday evening.
He said “ today a video surfaced on social media where in one police vehicle is being seen being utilised for distribution of food items in a political party rally in Anantnag”.
He said the vehicle in question was deployed for ferrying escort personnel of a protected person.
The vehicle has been withdrawn from said protected person and driver of the vehicle has been attached. Enquiry into the matter has been ordered under rules, he said.
Official sources said that police vehicle was used to distribute food packets during BJP election rally in south Kashmir.
They said after video goes viral police ordered a probe and suspended the driver of the vehicle.
The rally was addressed by the BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav at Dak Banglow Anantnag.
