Srinagar: Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah and Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone have condemned Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) summon to separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah’s daughter in connect with a money laundering case of 2005.
Terming the second summon to Shah’s daughter as victimization of the family, Mr Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), said she was 5 years old when the case was registered and yet the Enforcement Directorate still felt the need to summon her.
“She was 5 years old when the case was registered & yet the Enforcement Directorate still felt the need to summon her. Talk about victimising families! ED summons daughter of Shabir Shah in PMLA case of 2005 when she was 5-year-old,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Meanwhile, reacting to the summon, Mr Lone, who was the minister in previous J&K government on BJP quota, alleged that every possible red line has been crossed. “Everything seems to be going terribly wrong. Unbelievable but true. Summons to Shabir shah sahib daughter. Who would do this. Every possible red line has been crossed,” he tweeted.
Sama Shabir, who is studying law in Manchester in the United Kingdom, was issued summons at her Srinagar residence.
Shah, who is chairman of Democratic Freedom Party, was arrested by the ED in July 2017 and remained lodged in a jail in New Delhi.
