Ang: Senior National Conference leader and party candidate for Anantnag parliamentary constituency Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi Wednesday thanked Voters of District Anantnag for casting their Vote in favour of National Conference, the party that stands for Kashmir identity and against the forces that have in last seven decades and particularly four and a half years eroded autonomy and their local collaborators.
Masoodi voiced his serious concern on clubbing of polling stations, saying that “clubbing has made it inconvenient for voters to traverse long distances, in some cases few kilometers, to cast their vote. He also said that the clubbing of polling stations has not only contributed to low turn out of voters but practically deprived voters of their precious right to vote.
He has also condemned the deadly assault by PDP workers and their accomplices on local youth within premises of a polling station at Bijbehara, only because the youth had courage to resist fake and bogus voting. The attack, according to Justice Masoodi, depicts level of frustration and nervousness of the PDP leadership. The statement demands registration of case against those responsible for attack and its impartial investigation. The Voters of Bijbehara, it is stated had no option but to reject the PDP through ballot, as PDP heaped unprecedented atrocities on the people and made lethal attacks on the identity and autonomy of Jammu & Kashmir. The voters of Bijbehara by deciding not to vote for PDP, have only made a honest effort to wash off the blot, that has smeared image of a town occupying a distinguished place in the history of the State, Justice Masoodi said.
