Jammu: President, Rameshwar Singh Manhas and Working President Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu of Jammu and Kashmir Private School Coordination Committee along with Coordinator Private Schools’ Association Jammu Tariq Hussain Bali, executive members and large number of owners, promoters, principals of Private Schools of Various Districts of Jammu Division, Monday met Director School Education Jammu to seek clarification of the orders issued by JKFFC. The President of JKPSCC apprised the Director of the harassment, and confusion being caused by some self styled leaders, and self proclaimed representatives of Parents of wards studying in the Schools under the jurisdiction of Director School Education Jammu with regard to the Order no 1 issued by Fee Fixation Committee Dated 28th of January 2019 and Order of High Court Of J&K dated 18.03.2019
The two orders are absolutely clear but some proxy representatives of Parents Association are trying to polarise the general public by misinterpreting the two orders. The director school education has once again clarified the order of FFC, which permits the schools to charge Fee under Three heads namely Tuition fee, Annual Charges and Transport fee as applicable. Moreover, Low budget schools charging tuition fee less then Rs 1000/- and Annual Charges 6000/- have been exempted from approaching FFC for approval. However, Schools charging tuition fee and annual charges over Rs 1000/- and Rs 6000/- respectively may increase the fee under these two heads annually by 6% . Moreover, if a school needs to further hike the fee under any head by more then 6% needs to get the approval of the FFC under merit. Regarding the Court order, The director School Education clearly explained that the order to refund fee with interest of 9% applies only to schools (mainly CBSE Schools) who had refused to accept the orders of FFC. The Hon’ble high court, directed such schools to accept and implement the orders of FFC as they too come under the ambit of FFC and therefore get their fee structure approved by the committee.
President of JKPSCC, requested the Director school education to issue acknowledgement letters of Fee Structure submitted by Private Schools of the state, thereby complying to the order no 1 of FFC Dated 28th January 2019 or issue a list of schools who have submitted their fee structure details to the concerned authority. The president strongly condemned the misbehaviour and use of foul language by self proclaimed leaders of parent association, while speaking to the senior Female Government Officer. These leaders have been defaming the law abiding schools who have followed all the instructions of the Education Department and Fee Fixation Committee from time to time in true letter and spirit. Working President Dr. Hari Dutt Shishu reminded the contribution of Private Schools in reaching out to all nooks and corners of the state and spreading the light of education, thereby enlightening the young minds of this disturbed state and channelizing their skills and energy in the right direction for national development. The spurious representatives have attempted to defame the highly respected segment of the society by false propaganda and enticing false baseless promises to the simple and innocent parents of the wards. The Working President also told media personnel that the Jammu and Kashmir Private School Coordination Committee strongly stands with private schools and appealed to the schools to abide by the orders issued by JKFFC and Director School Education.
