Srinagar: Body of a student was recovered under mysterious circumstances in Srinagar outskirts on Sunday afternoon.
Official sources said that panic crippled Rawalpora when some locals saw body of a youth lying on a road at Astanapora in the city outskirts. “Police was immediately informed,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
The deceased was later identified as Umar Ahmad Bhat, a 2nd year student at Amar Singh College.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the cause of the death,” they added.
