Farooq cast his vote in Srinagar, said “Anantnag candidate can defend us as far as law is concerned”

Srinagar: National Conference (NC) patron and party candidate for Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Thursday hoped that he will come up to the expectations of people if he is voted to power.
After casting his vote at Srinagar Dr. Abdullah said “I thank Almighty Allah as there was no death and the polling culminated peacefully.”
About response of people in today’s polling, NC patron said that “I hope I can deliver to the hopes of people and the nation doesn’t get divided on the basis of religion so that we (Jammu and Kashmir) will survive with honor and respect with rest of the nation and can defend Article 370 and 35A.”
He further said people of South Kashmir should understand and vote for NC for the benefit of not only South Kashmir but the whole Jammu and Kashmir. “We have put up a great candidate who can defend us as far as law is concerned,” he added.
Asked whether he expect the return of Modi led government in centre, Dr. Abdullah said, “It will be the people of India who will decide his (Modi) comeback or not. I don’t have ‘Allah din ka Charaag’ to find out what will happen. I hope people will not vote in favour of those who are trying to divide the nation.”
