Srinagar: “Policy of suppression and repression in Jammu and Kashmir has failed to yield any positive results for India. Through the elongated period of ordeal and barbarism since 1947, India is currently facing a powerful people’s political movement for right to self-determination in every nook and corner of the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” said Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani while paying rich tributes to the martyrs of Shopian encounter Aabid Ahmad Wagay and Shahi-e-Jahan.

Condemned the use of excessive force against the protestors and injuring morethan 20 persons by the indiscriminate use of bullets, pellets and other oppressive measures by occupational forces, Hurriyat (G) chairman said in a statement issued on Saturday.

Referring to the sacrifices rendered by our people especially youth to end the forced occupation, he said that more than 6 lakh people have been killed and economy worth trillions is lost with the lakhs of injured, but Indian brutality and repression, through their local conduits, seems to have no end.

Hurriyat (G) chairman said that India is suffering from arrogance of power and has tried its best to muzzle our voice—but has utterly failed to do so, and the Indian might, its brutality can never deter us from our much cherished goal of right to self-determination, said Geelani.

Reiterating its appeal for boycott, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman said that participation in any election sponsored by Indian might amounts to treason and betrayal with martyr’s blood and disgrace for sacrifices rendered by our nation. We believe, any election process, India tries to conduct, is nothing but an armed drill to threaten the common people thereby strengthening its illegal control in the occupied land, but we are indebted by the sacrifices of our nation never to even think of any compromise and we pledge to take this sacred movement to its logical conclusion, he added.

Stressing upon people in general and youth in particular, Hurriyat (G) chairman said that we need to strengthen our faith and as a nation we need to the optimistic and by the grace of Almighty Allah the Indian brute force will come to an end and we will Insha Allah get rid of this forceful military occupation.
