Srinagar: In response to a PIL filed in Delhi high court with the prior for barring Kashmir’s two largest regional political parties National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has hit back at the petitioner and the BJP and asked them not to waste in court but wait for abrogation of article 370 by BJP that will automatically debar PDP and National Conference from contesting elections under Indian constitution.
In a twee Mehbooba wrote, “Why waste time in court. Wait for BJP to scrap Article 370. It will automatically debar us from fighting elections since Indian constitution won’t be applicable to J&K anymore. Na samjho gay tou mit jaouge aye Hindustan walo. Tumhari dastaan tak bhi na hogi dastaano main.”
Mehbooba Mufti reacted to news reports about a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in Delhi high court to seek a ban on the participation of two largest regional political parties National Conference and PDP and their leaderships in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The petition argued that loyalties of Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah of National Conference and Mehbooba Mufti of Peoples Democratic Party lie somewhere else outside the Indian constitution. The petition was filed by Advocate Sanjeev Kumar before Delhi high court few days back.
