PDP slams Yogi Adityanath over his ‘Ali vs Bajrangbali’ remark

Srinagar: Slamming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his ‘Ali vs Bajrangbali’ remarks, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said Yogi is hurting sentiments of billions of Muslims across the world by using his foul mouth to drag great personalities like Hazrat Ali (A.S) into political mudslinging.

According to a statement issued here, while addressing an election rally in Meerut, Adityanath on Tuesday said if Congress, BSP and SP trust ‘Ali’ to win elections, the BJP has the support of ‘Bajrangbali’.

Reacting to such remarks of UP Chief Minister, senior PDP leader and Former Minster Naeem Akhtar said a person like Yogi who is filled with hatred is not qualified to even take the name of great personality like Hazrat Ali. “BJP is bringing this in as the party has failed on all fronts and now its leaders are misusing the names of religious personalities like Hazrat Ali who is one of the greatest personalities of Islam,” Akhtar said and added that Hazrat Ali is not only held in highest regard for his piety but for his knowledge, sense of sacrifice and dignity.

Akhtar said that Hazrat Ali represents everything great that humanity could achieve and on the contrary, people like Yogi and other RSS leaders are miles away from the values that such great personalities represent. “Yogi should understand that on Hazrat Ali’s name any number of Muslims can sacrifice their lives and he should not name them the way he is trying to create hatred against Muslims and get even with the opposition. These names of religious personalities are not like ‘Vikaas’ which can be part of BJP narrative to mislead people in one election and forget in the next and bring up names like Hazrat Ali and Bajrang Bali,” said Akhtar.

The PDP leader said Yogi must be careful because he is hurting sentiments of billions of Muslims across the world by using his foul mouth to drag such personalities into political mudslinging
