Srinagar: United Jihad Council (UJC) on Monday said that National Investigation Agency (NIA) was being used to weaken the “freedom struggle” in Kashmir, saying such attempts have failed in past and will fail in the future too.
In an e-mailed statement issued to local news gathering agency KNS, UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain termed the summoning of Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and religious cleric, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to Delhi by NIA for quizzing as highly condemnable, saying “it indicates the frustration of the government.”
He also sought clarification on what he termed as doubtful words including “criminals, extremism and terrorism” in the statement of Hurriyat (M) regarding NIA’s summon to Mirwaiz, saying that “The movement demands clarification of such words for the unity among people in the struggle.”
