Jammu: Inaugurating the NC Minority Cell Election Office, Senior National Conference leaders Vijay Bakaya and Rattan Lal Gupta have called for a decisive mandate for the unifying forces to counter politics of hate and divide, saying that the spirit of inclusiveness alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir out of the prevailing morass and political instability.
The two leaders inaugurated the Election Office at B. C Road, near Jewel Chowk here to facilitate the migrant voters fulfill all the requisite formalities like M-Form etc for casting their votes. The Minority Cell functionaries will provide the assistance to such voters.
The Chief Patron of the Minority Cell and the former MLC Vijay Bakaya exhorted the people to stand guard against sinister moves being perpetrated by forces inimical to the uniqueness of Kashmiriyat and strengthen the bonds of amity and brotherhood. He hoped the displaced people will come forward in a big way and endorse their commitment to safeguarding singular entity of the State and ending the era of political uncertainty. He urged the voters to come in a big way and cast their votes in favour of the National Conference candidates Dr Farooq Abdullah, Justice (Retd) Husnain Masoodi and Mohammed Akbar Lone respectively from Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla Lok Sabha constituencies.
“Vote to National Conference candidates would be support to the policies and programmes of National Conference that stands for amity, brotherhood and equal opportunities to all, irrespective of caste, creed or colour”, Bakaya added.
Speaking on the occasion, State Secretary and former MLC Rattan Lal Gupta cautioned against the attempts being made to divide people, generate mistrust and hate between various segments of society and to exploit religious sentiments.
Gupta blamed the PDP and BJP for pushing Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented political crisis after failing in deliverance. He said the nightmarish coalition government of the two opportunistic parties inflicted lot of miseries to the people during over three years of misgovernance. He said development came to grinding halt and implementation of various welfare schemes were hugely impacted.
Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir, while speaking on the occasion, said the election office will be of immense use to the migrant voters based in Jammu. He hoped they will ensure victory of National Conference candidates from the Valley seats with a huge margin. Anil Dhar Vice President and Bhushan Lal Bhat Sarpanch also spoke on the occasion and urged the migrant voters to cast their votes in favour of the National Conference candidates from the three Valley seats.
President of the NC Minority Cell, M K Yogi said the election office will function from morning till evening and provide all necessary information to the voters.
Yogi exuded confidence that the migrant voters will make best use of their votes by ensuring the victory of secular forces. He said National Conference has a track record of public service and this is the only party that took various initiatives for the wellbeing of the displaced people.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Corporator S Sucha Singh, Jatin Bhat, Abhay Bakaya, Dr Amina, Reitesh Koul, Mohider Singh, Raju, Sahil, P.
