Masoodi reminds of Mehbooba of the colossal damge caused to JK’s special status during her government

Srinagar: Terming Mehbooba Mufti and her party leaders’ concern for Article 370 as fake and preposterous to hoodwink people, Justice Hasnain Masoodi National Conference candidate for South Kashmir Parliamentary Constituency reminded Ms. Mufti of colossal damage done to special status during PDP-BJP rule.
Pointing out that the coalition government during last four and a half years demolished autonomy brick by brick, Justice Masoodi stated that repeated pleas made by civil society groups and noted economists against GST were not only contemptuously ignored by Ms. Mufti but responded by arrests, crackdowns and punitive withdrawal of security of eminent civil society members.
Stating GST as the most deadly blow to the special status striping Jammu and Kashmir of its fiscal autonomy, Masoodi reminded that because of massive erosion of autonomy by introduction of GST, its application was hailed/celebrated by Mr. Jattely as realization of the dream cherished by Jan Sang founder S. P. Mukharjee. It was stated that PDP Government by a series of measures, either introducing new laws besides GST like SAFEASI, NEET, Industrial Policy, minor mineral extraction laws etc. or leaving the attacks on different aspects of the autonomy like State Flag, transfer of Civil and Criminal cases from the State undefended, further eroded the autonomy enjoyed by the state.
The sudden love for the autonomy shown by Ms. Mufti for Article 370 and 35-A is inexplicable not supported by her conduct during last five years. Masoodi was addressing meetings at various places in Pahalgam and Pampore. Mr. Altaf Kaloo, former MLA Pahalgam and District President National Conference Anantnag, Irfan Gulzar, Zonal President YNC – South Kashmir, Peerzada Musharaf, District President YNC Anantnag, Javid Rahim, District President YNC, Pulwama and other party leaders addressed these meetings.
Mr Kaloo in his address made people aware of challenges ahead, the implications of erosion of Article 370 and 35-A and importance of having National Conference as a strong political force of the state with history of struggle for political aspiration of the people, at the helm of affairs. At Hapatnar Pahalgam, an area of great tourist potential, the people were asked by Masoodi and Kaloo to henceforth name it as Khushal Nar with a commitment to make it a prosperous area in real terms.
