Ganderbal: General Observer for Ganderbal (Kangan and Ganderbal Assembly segments), Rahul Sharma along with District Election Officer, Ganderbal, Hashmat Ali Khan Saturday convened a meeting to review the overall arrangements for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the district.
SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADDC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, AROs, Deputy DEO, Nodal Officers and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
DEO Ganderbal through comprehensive power point presentation briefed the observer about the overall poll preparedness in the district for the smooth conduct of election. He also briefed about the SVEEP activities, training of EVM/ VVPAT, awareness campaign, deployment of man power, training to polling personnel, communication plan, installation of assured minimum facilities at polling stations, implementation of MCC, expenditure monitoring and Complaint Monitoring Control Room.
The SSP Ganderbal gave briefing on security management plan, pre-poll preparedness, categorization of polling stations, security arrangements for distribution centers, camping sites for additional forces, communication plan and force requirements for ensuring peaceful elections.
The Observer reviewed the basic minimum facilities being provided at the polling stations, facilities for specially-abled voters, transport facilities for dispatching the poll staff to different locations, security plan at polling stations besides transportation, dispatching and collection of EV
Expressing satisfaction over the preparations made by the district election authorities for the smooth conduct Lok Sabha polls, the Observer impressed upon the officials involved in the election process to put in their best efforts and work in a synergized manner to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.
