Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested an active militant from Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Identifying the arrested militant as Rameez Ahmad Dar, police said that after the efforts made by Police, Army and CRPF, Dar was arrested from Bijbehara Thursday.
They said that he was arrested along with arms and ammunition, saying that he active since Jan 2014 and was involved in many militancy cases. A top police official said that Dar was earlier affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen but he has recently joined the Al-Badr mujahideen, a militant outfit.
