Inf Deptt condoles demise of Abdul Gani Trali

Jammu: The Department of Information & Public Relations has condoled the demise of Abdul Gani Trali, retired Assistant Cultural Officer.

A condolence meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Director Information & Public Relations,  Gulzar Ahmad Shabnam here Wednesday which was attended by all officers and officials of the Directorate as  well as Joint Directorate of Information Jammu.

The meeting conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Recalling the contribution of late Trali who passed away at the age of 84,  Shabnam said he has been one of the founders of Cultural wing of the Information Department, who represented the state at national and international levels in the cultural programs and brought laurels to the state. During his three and a half decade career in the cultural wing of the Information department, late Trali earned name and fame at the state and national level and became a household name.

He has also been instrumental in promoting Kashmiri music and culture and inspired a lot of young artists towards music.  By virtue of  his dedication, devotion and hardwork,  Trali rose to the level of Assistant Cultural officer and retired from the services in 1992.  Even after his retirement he remained actively involved in cultural activities and associated with various cultural organizations of the valley.  He has also been associated with Radio Kashmir and Doordarshan as a senior artist.

The other speakers also highlighted the remarkable role of Late Trali in promoting Kashmiri culture and music and said he shall be remembered long for his distinguished role.

Condolence meetings were also held at Joint Directorate of Information Kashmir and Cultural wing of Kashmir Division, District Information Centers at Anantnag and Pulwama also.
