Comr Secy Tourism launches Web Portal to facilitate online registrations, renewals

Jammu: Commissioner Secretary, Tourism Department Rigzian Sampheal on Wednesday launched its Web-Portal to augment the ease of doing business and to ensure hassle free on-line services to those engaged in Travel trade for promotion of tourism across the State.
During the launch, Commissioner Secretary said the portal will go a long way in providing all information related to registration/renewal of Hotel Units/Travel Agencies/Dealers/Adventure Agencies etc creating more avenues for ensuring comfortable stay for the incoming tourists.
The Web Portal will facilitate online registration/renewal of Tourism/Trade activities envisaged in the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1978. The Web Portal www.tourismjk.in has been developed by the SICOP.
The Web Portal of the Tourism Department will provide direct access to the services being provided by the Department as well as technical information such as checklist and other formalities required for on-line registration and renewal of these services.
The Web-Portal is specially designed to ensure single access for information and services available with the Department. It is expected to reduce time gap in making services available to the applicants. The services will now be accessible from multiple platforms like personal computer, smartphones and other electronic devices. It will also allow users to voluntarily personalize the information presented.
The provision of on-line registration shall go a long way in cost savings, quality improvement and establishing long-standing relationship with users. The Website features a streamlined and simplified design, improved functionality and enriched content for user friendly and easy registration of business units under Tourist Trade Act, 1978.
The features of on-line tracking of application, right from the submission to final approval of application/periodic information through cell phone messages and all new orders/circulars/guidelines, will be available to user through the said Web Portal. The prospective user can modify/update the details filed at the time of submission of the application form, if required. Further, this provision for ease of doing business shall ensure improvement in quality of services being made available to the clients besides reducing public interface and time duration for making services accessible to the interested parties.
The prospective clients intended to register and renew their business units shall henceforth apply for any kind of registration and renewal as provided in the Act through the designated portal only and no manual application/request shall be entertained and processed by the Department.
Further, the registration/renewal certificate can be accessed at the given homepage. However, the renewal/registration cases already received/processed till date by both the Directorates shall be renewed/issued as per past practice.
