Slain minor’s family struggling in Hajin: Omar

Srinagar: National Conference Vice President and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that the family of 11-year-old boy Atif Mir was struggling to come to terms after the killing of Atifduring a gunfight in Hajin area of north Kashmir.’s Bandipora district few days back.
Taking to micro blogging social networking site twitter Omar wrote “his family are struggling to come to back to terms with their loss, especially his parents & 2 older sisters. May Allah grant young Atif Mir place in Jannat (sic),” Omar said in a tweet.
In his another tweet Omar said “returning just now from Hajin where I had gone to condole the death of young Atif. Atif was an 11 year old boy, the only son of his parents, killed after he was taken hostage by militants last week.
In his yet another tweet Omar said “There can be nothing worse for a father than yet to lend shoulder to his young child’s coffin & nothing worse for a mother than to grieve at her young child’s grave. Kashmir has seen too much of this suffering heaped on parents.”
Jammu and Kashmir Police had said Atif was killed after he was taken hostage by the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant during a gunfight in Mir Mohalla area of Hajin last week that saw the killing of two LeT militants.
