Sopore: Over a dozen youth were arrested during a nocturnal raid in Sopore, Janwara and Warpora villages of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Locals said government forces including the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary CRPF personnel raided many residential houses in the town and villages and detained several youth during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Police sources said that youth were detained on charges of stone pelting. Earlier on Saturday, massive clashes reported after funeral procession of Amir Rasool Kaboo and amid gunfight at Warpora Sopore in which many youth received minor injuries after three-day-long gunfight ended with the killing of two Jaish-e-Muhammad militants.
