Div Com reviews progress of various road projects in Jammu

JAMMU:  Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma today convened a meeting to review the progress on various ongoing Road projects in Jammu Division.

The Div Com took project wise review  of Chenani- Sudhmahadev Road, Ring Road and National Highway Udhampur to Banihal.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of Ramban, Udhampur, Samba through video conferencing while senior functionaries of executing agencies attended the meeting in person.

Deputy Commissioner Udhampur apprised the Div Com about the present status of work on Chennai Sudhmahadev Road. It was informed that the work is in progress on all Road Projects. He further informed that they have disbursed the compensation amount to the most of the beneficiaries and rest would be disbursed soon. He also informed that there are some bottlenecks like acquisition cases and forest land issues.

The DC  Ramban, informed about the work progress on NH Udhampur to Banihal. He also informed that disbursement of compensation amount is almost complete where the final awards were issued and  rest will be completed soon.

The Div com asked the concerned to remove the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work and meet the timelines.

Regarding the Ring Road , the concerned informed that the work is in progress and it was informed that the administration has disbursed the compensation amount to the most of the beneficiaries rest will complete soon.

The Div Com asked the concerned authorities to early disburse the compensation amount to the beneficiaries and remove the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work and meet the timelines.

Earlier, the Div Com also convened a joint meeting with  Air Force authorities and discussed the air sorties requirements  for smooth conduct of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who attended the meeting through video conferencing informed about the number of air sorties required for air lifting of security forces, Polling Staff and PwD voters.

The Div Com passed necessary directions for making date wise plan for air sorties. He also asked the air force officers to make necessary arrangements accordingly for smooth conduct of elections.
