Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) president and former IAS officer, Shah Faesal on Saturday announced that his party will not contest the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Addressing a presser here at Kashmir Press Club, Shah Faesal said that his party will not contest the Lok Sabha polls and will work to strengthen the party at grass root level. Earlier, the speculations were on rife that Shah will contest the upcoming parliamentary polls from Baramulla constituency.
The IAS topper has served at various top posts following which he decided to resign from the country’s elite posts and joined politics. He said that the Rizwan Asad Pandit custodial death is a ‘prima facial case of custodial killing’.
“The type of evidences that have come forward and the circumstantial evidence makes it a prima facia case of custodial killing,” Faisal said. He also condemned the killing of minor Atif Mir in Hajin gunfight.
“He was held hostage during the gunfight. The perpetrators of such killing must be condemned. Human rights should be upheld in all the cases and by all,” he siad. Faisal condemned the attack on a Muslim family in Gurugram of mainland India.
