PSO of Municipal Committee President Anantnag injured

Srinagar: Suspected militants on Friday afternoon fired upon police party in Dangerpora area of Anantnag in which one PSO of Congress leader and Municipal Committee chairman Anantnag, Hilal Shah was injured.
The injured cop has been identified as Irshad Ahmad who was shifted to district hospital Anantnag, from where he has been referred to SKIMS.
A police official also confirmed the incident while hospital sources said he has sustained bullet injury in abdomen. Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off and search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
Moreover, police in a statement issued on Friday said that militants at about 1710 hours fired upon one police official near Court Road New Townhall Anantnag. Identified as Arshid Ahmad, he has received gunshot injuries and has been evacuated to hospital for medical treatment.
Officers from the local police unit visited the spot and are investigating the circumstances of this terror crime. A case has been registered in this regard.
