FCS&CA Deptt celebrates World Consumer Rights Day at Sgr directorate

Srinagar: Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (FCS&CA) Friday organised a function to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day with the theme ‘Trusted Smart Products’ here at the Directorate office.
The function was jointly chaired by Deputy Director Supplies, Peerzada Zahoor Ahmad and Deputy Director Ladakh Supplies, Mohammed Akbar.
Peerzada Zahoor said the department is committed to protect the rights of consumers and safeguard them from exploitation. He said the department is working to ensure safe and secure environment for the consumers. He also directed officers of the department to ensure proper, equal and justified distribution of supplies.
Deputy Director Ladakh Supplies, Mohammed Akbar said the department has been organizing yearly functions on this day to make consumers aware about their rights including right to affordable and hygienic food. He impressed upon the officials of the department to keep proper vigil and keep a watch on the overcharging by shopkeepers and hoarding of essential ite
The function was attended by all Assistant Directors, Tehsil Supply Officers, other officers and prominent citizens.
