Srinagar: Prominent political activist Najeeb Naqvi here on Thursday said that one time allies of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) though pitch for joint fight against BJP but pull out in different directions just to hide their own failures even on fast track socio-economic development in Jammu and Kashmir state.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar Syed Najeeb Naqvi while annoucing his decision to contest upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Baramulla Parliamentary constituency said that he plans to fight against increasing alienation of youth, failure of previous regimes in face lifting development as per their own promises and constitutional identity of Jammu and Kashmir state.
Saying that not the Central government alone but the main stream regional political parties too are equally responsible for the current chaos in Kashmir, Naqvi regretted the politics of deceive and falsehood being propagated by traditional mainstream parties both regional and national just for pelf and power.
Promising that if elected he would raise the voice against discrimination on religious of regional lines over issues like construction of bunkers in Border areas and construction of power projects, and employment of youth on the lines of equality in all the three regions of the state. Naqvi said huge number of children orphaned and equally a large number of women rendered widows during last thirty years of armed conflict deserve the immediate attention of both the centre and state governments. He said the one of the major cause of youth alienation is un-employment and admission policy in professional colleges and universities of the state. Naqvi said like government jobs in professional colleges and universities should also be restricted to permanent residents (PRC’S) of Jammu and Kashmir.
