Srinagar/March 10: Police on Monday said that two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants were killed in an overnight gunfight in Pinglish village of Tral area in South Kashmirโs Pulwama district
In a statement issued on Monday Policeย said that following a cordon and search operation launched on Sunday evening in Pinglish village of Tral area in South Kashmirโs Pulwama district the hiding militants fired on a search party triggering in heavy exchange of fire during which two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants were killed.
Saying that bodies of two militants have been retrieved from the gunfight site, police in its statement said ‘from the incriminating materials recovered at the gunfight site of encounter, it is understood that both the slain militants were affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit. Their identities are being ascertained. Search is going on at the site of encounter”.
Claiming that Incriminating material was recovered from the site of encounter includes arms and ammunition,Police said it has registered a case in the matter and appealed people of the area not to venture inside encounter zone voicing apprehension that such an area can prove dangerous due to stray material ‘.
