Shopian: A delegation of educationists and senior citizens from Zainapora Monday met Deputy Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmed, at his office and hailed the decision to establish a degree college at Zainapora and also for laying its foundation stone at the earliest.
People from Zainapora sub district and adjoining areas welcomed and hailed the government’s decision for setting up a government degree college at Zainapora sub-district headquarter which was a long pending demand of locals for many years.
The college is being established at Zainapora on 78 kanals of State land at an estimated cost of Rs 12.02 crore. While appreciating the move, locals saidtime has come when our children would not face problems to avail higher education.
Deputy commissioner, Dr Owais Ahmed assured the locals that work on the college will be started on war foot and soon the area will be facilitated with a college.
