Srinagar: Refuting reports that a serving Army soldier was abducted from central Kashmir district of Budgam, a Defence Ministry spokesperson said that the jawan was safe.
“Media reports of the abduction of a serving Army soldier on leave from Qazipora, Chadoora, Budgam are incorrect,” he said on Saturday.
“The soldier is safe. Speculations may please be avoided,” he added.
On Friday, reports said that Mohammad Yasin Bhat, posted with Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment, was kidnapped by militants from his home in Budgam. Bhat was on leave from February 26 to March 31.
