Bandipora: District Development Commissioner Shahbaz Mirza Thursday reviewed the performance of banks here at District level review committee/District consultative committee (DLRC/DCC) meeting.
Lead District Manager (LDM), Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan presented the performance of the banks and line departments of the district for last quarter of December 2018.
LDM said that the banks operating in the district have extended credit aggregating to an amount of Rs 246.15 crore under priority sector and Rs175.91 crore under non priority sector during the third quarter of 2018-19 upto December 2018, aggregating to total credit of Rs. 422.06 crores, thereby registering an achievement of 58% in priority sector and 89% in total plan.
Lead Bank manager informed the meeting that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 362.25 crore which amounts to 86% of the total credit disbursed by all banks operating in the district for the financial year 2018-19.
Besides reviewing the performance of Banks and Government departments under various schemes, the DDC directed for speedy disposal of Government sponsored cases.
He advised the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in coordination to achieve the targets for development progress and eradication of unemployment.
