Handwara/March 1: Two militants were Friday morning killed in an overnight gunfigt in Babagund village of Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said two militants were killed in the nocturnal gunfight and bodies of both the slain militants were recovered on Friday morning from the gunfight site.
Gunfight broke out in the area after a cordon and search operation was jointly launched by army’s 22 RR, 92 battalion CRPF and SOG at Khanu Babagund village of Langate area in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Police officials said that two militants were killed during the heavy exchange of fire in the gunfight. “The identities of the slain and their group affiliations are yet to be ascertained. Further details are awaited.
