Srinagar: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) on Saturday organized protests in Srinagar against attack on Kashmiris in Jammu and other parts of the country after the Pulwama militant attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed on Thursday.
Members of the EJAC led by its president Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam assembled at Press Enclave at Partp Park near here raising slogans against attack on Kashmiris in winter capital, Jammu and other parts of the country during the past 48 hours.
Demanding immediate action against all those involved in these attack, Shabnam alleged that anti social elements were given free hand to target Kashmiri people and their properties.
He said property worth millions, including vehicles were destroyed in these attack in Jammu, where no action was taken by the security forces who were witnessing all this as a mute spectator.
Shabnam said people in Kashmir have always been hospitable to citizens from different corners of the country even in terrible times. However, he said, Kashmiris are not being targeted for no fault.
He said people in the entire Kashmir valley are concerned over the continuous attacks on Kashmiris outside the valley. Kashmiri people, particularly students are in tremendous fear of being attacked, he added.
He warned the state government that in case of any further attack on Kashmiris, particularly employees, EJAC will hold a full fledged protest against the government and employees will be on strike.
He urged Governor and Chief Ministers of concerned states to provide full security to the Kashmiri people in Jammu and other parts of the country and also take strong measures to promote the harmony among people.
