Mehbooba hails Imran Khan on announcing a forest reserve in the name of Guru Nanak Dev, slams Centre over Ram temple and renaming of ancient cities

Srinagar/Feb, 10: PDP President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Sunday hailed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan over his announcement on naming a forest reserve after Guru Nanak Dev, but slammed Modi led central government  on renaming ancient cities of India and its statement over the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya saying ” the priority of the central government seems to be renaming ancient cities and building Ram temple in Ayodhya.”

Takingto micro blogging social networking site twitter Mehbooba wrote “how times change. Centre’s top priority is seemingly renaming historic cities & building Ram Mandir. On the other hand , heartening to see that Pak PM has initiated steps to name Baloki forest reserve after Guru Nanak ji & create a university under his name.

Her statement is obviously a response to the recent announcement of Pakistan Prime Minister Khan who at an official function recently said  that he was taking steps to name the wild life reserve after Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism.

“The Baloki Forest Reserve and a new University in Nankana Sahib will be established and named after Baba Guru Nanak. Pakistan belongs to all citizens equally and we will ensure that Sikh pilgrims are facilitated for 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak,” Khan had said
