Advisors Kumar, Sharma, Skandan visit Ranjit Sagar Dam, inspect tourism facilities

Kathua: Advisors to Governor, K Vijay Kumar, K K Sharma, and K Skandan Saturday visited Ranjit Sagar Dam and inspected the facilities being provided to the tourists at Tourist Reception Centre.
The Advisors said Rs. 3 crore have been earmarked for establishing Water Sports Academy at Basholi under PMDP and directed the officers of Sports Council to start the work on it after completing all codal formalities.
The Academy will be first of its kind in all the northern states of India having all the modern, state-of-art facilities to promote water sports activities.
The Advisors also inspected the Steamers which were pressed to service in R S Dam by Tourism and Forest Department and discussed few more initiatives which should be undertaken to increase the tourist footfall to the area.
Secretary Tourism, Rigzin Samphel, Secretary Youth Services & Sports, Sarmad Hafeez, ADC Basholi, Sanjay Gupta, ASP, Nasir Khan, Engineers of Sports Council and officers of Tourism and Forest Departments were also present.
