Ganderbal: To have first-hand appraisal of situations raised and response mechanism put in place to deal with challenges following to snowfall, District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr. Piyush Singla, accompanied by various concerned officers Thursday visited Ganderbal town and its adjoining areas including, Wayil, Baroosa, District Hospital and other villages.
During his tour, the DDC took stock of the snow clearance works in the district and restoration of essential services by concerned departments including drinking water supply, restoration of electricity, availability of essential commodities and health care.
While taking stock of snow clearance measure taken, the DDC was told that field staff of concerned departments along with snow clearance machines have been put on job since morning besides all the major roads were cleared in the district and traffic was plying normally.
Showing satisfaction on measures taken by the concerned departments, Dr. Singla said the administration is ready to tackle with any kind of situation and men and machinery has been put on standby mode so that essential services are restored at an earliest in the district.
While visiting Wayil, Baroosa and other villages, the DDC stressed on mobilizing men and machinery so that the people may not face any inconvenience. He directed for clearing all roads and links in the area within shortest possible time.
Later, the DDC visited the District Hospital where he took the stock of availability of essential medicines and health care facilities being provided to the patients there.
