Amid massive snowfall thousands participate in LeT Commander’s funeral procession in Pulwama

Pulwama: Amid massive snowfall, thousands of mourners attended the funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e- Toiba commander Irfan Ahmad Sheikh in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
Irfan, a resident of Chakoora was killed with government forces in his own village in a brief shootout on Wednesday.
Locals said that thousands of mourners converged in Chakoora, the native village of Irfan to participate in his last rites.
They said that five back to back rounds of funeral prayers were held for Irfan till the filing of this report.
Irfan according to police “had a long history of militant records for which several cases were registered against him.”
As per police Irfan was involved in conspiring and executing several militant attacks on security establishments in the area including grenade attacks.
Meanwhile, the district observed a complete shutdown to mourn the killing of Irfan Ahmed. All the shops and business establishment remained shut while transport also remained off the roads.
