Kashmir’s Collaborators not a match to Bengal’s leaders

The West Bengal state of the Indian Union famous for producing great leaders has the distinction of finding their indelible foot prints on both political and as wells developmental landscape of the state but on the contrary the people of Jammu & Kashmir are unfortunate to find their mainstream political leaders changing into collaborators who for their own empowerment are selling all ideas of public disempowerment in the state. Jyoti Basu the top Indian Marxist ideologue ruled west Bengal with an iron grip only because of his exemplary performance as Chief Minister of the state for twenty three long years during which he bravely withstood against the unmatched political might of the Congress rulers including the likes of late Indira Gandhi and late Rajiv Gandhi. On the contrary National Conference founder late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah choose to return to power without seeking the restoration of the positions and powers the Jammu & Kashmir state had before his dismissal as first Prime Minister of the state almost the same time when Jyoti Basu was for the first time elected Chief Minister of West Bengal . While corruption took roots and daily wage kind of employment rose to new hieghts in Jammu & Kashmir state during six year rule of National Conference government under the leadership of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, the CPI(M) government under the leadership of Jyoti Basu outsmarted Congress in West Bengal by inking a golden chapter in public accountability and anti-corruption crusade and socio economic development in the state. Today Mamta Benejee has become the country’s only Chief Minister to take head on the Modi government running the affairs of the country with a brute two third majority in the parliament and she has put at risk the survival of her party and the government for safeguarding the sanctity of the institutions of her West Bengal government.

While Jammu & Kashmir has its many investigative agencies including State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) and Crime Branch of Jammu & Kashmir Police the Chief Ministers of yesteryears Omar and Mehbooba allowed institutional encroachment in the matters of investigation against the whims and wishes of their own people in the state. Omar and Mehbooba who allowed institutional encroachment in the matters of investigation are crying over the central government’s attempts of institutional intervention in West Bengal.

Detaining CBI for unauthorisedly knocking the doors of state police chief shows the courage of Mamta Benerjee to foil Modi government’s attempts of institutional interventions in the working of her state government. On the contrary the people of Jammu & Kashmir were unfortunate to see Omar Abdullah giving access to National Investigative Agency (NIA) as Chief Minister in Jammu & Kashmir and Mehbooba allowing NIA to establish offices in the state.
