Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway is through for one way traffic from Jammu to Srinagar as 3000 stranded vehicles mostly trucks load with essential commodities were on Monday allowed to move to Srinagar keeping in view the shortage of essential commodities in valley due to closure of the High way for three consecutive days last week.
Traffic police officials overseeing the movement of traffic said both passenger and commercial vehicles were on Monday allowed to move from Jammu to Srinagar and vehicles mostly trucks loaded with essential commodities stranded in the Ramban-Banihal area too were allowed to move to Srinagar. Meanwhile Meteorological department in Srinagar said that the weather conditions are likely to improve on Monday but heavy to moderate rains and snowfall is likely in plains and upper reaches of Kashmir valley from February 5 Tuesday to February 8 Friday this week.
