Srinagar: Days ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to Kashmir, government forces on Friday launched a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar city.
Witnesses said that the forces also used drones during the operation. “They (forces’ personnel) frisked the motorists and pedestrians during the search operation,” said a shopkeeper, adding that the paramilitary troopers also carried out searches in the hotels located in the commercial hub.
The operation was carried out just two days ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the state.
