Jammu: The State Administrative Council (SAC) which met here Tuesday evening under the chairmanship of Governor, Satya Pal Malik accorded sanction to the promotion of IAS officers namely Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary, Choudhary Mohammad Yaseen and Sachin Kumar Vaishy of 2015 batch to the Senior Time Scale of IAS (Level 11 in the Pay Matrix) w.e.f 01.01.2019.
Fresh landslides shut Srinagar-Jammu highway again, snowfall in upper reaches once more
Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu highway was on Wednesday closed again after fresh landslides blocked the highway at many places in Ramban area, said traffic official overseeing the traffic on the road prone to stone pelting and landslides in the winter months.
Traffic officials said “One-way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu will be allowed as soon as the landslide is cleared”,adding that to the “no traffic will be allowed in the opposite direction to avoid overcrowding.”
After remaining closed for six days, the strategic highway was restored for one-way traffic Monday this week
Meanwhile the light snowing is being witnessed in upper reaches of Kashmir valley including tourist spots Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Lolab area of Kupwara district from Wednesday morning MeT department has predicted moderate snowing on Thursday when the thirty day long period of the harshest season of Chilla-i-Kalan ends. Weather showed marginal improvement as minimum temperatures in Srinagar recorded Tuesday night was minus 0.3 degree celcius.
