Srinagar/Jan, 26: Following the fresh landslides in the Ramban area the Jammu-Srinagar highway continues to remain closed on Saturday for the 6th consecutive day .
Officials overseeing the movement of traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway said “.landslides again hit the highway in Gagroo, Anokhi Fall and Battery Chashma area despite unabated Lt continuing to landslide clearance operation in the area.”
As reported already two policemen, including a junior officer were on Friday this week injured by shooting stones in Ramban area.
For the safety of passengers it has been decided not to allow traffic on the highway, said the officials.
Over 2,000 trucks, most of them carrying essentials to the Kashmir Valley have been stranded at various places on the highway.
Passengers stranded in the winter Capital Jammu have appealed the government to arrangements for airlifting them to Srinagar.
