Jammu: An awareness program was Thursday organized by the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) on the theme “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha” here at Bus stand and Pull Doda.
Over 150-200 passenger vehicle drivers and conductors participated in the program.
Addressing the camp, ARTO Rajesh Gupta sought cooperation of drivers and conductors in spreading the message of road safety and making the road safety week a big success. He asked them to avoid over speeding, use of phone while driving, drunken driving, wrong overtaking, over speeding and underage driving to prevent loss of precious human lives.
He also stressed upon the youth to wear helmet and seat belt while driving two wheeler or four wheeler to avoid fatal injuries. He also advised them to obey traffic rules in order to stop loss of lives in road accidents.
Latter, Deputy District Election Officer Haroon Rashid Naik interacted with drivers and conductors and informed about ongoing special summery revision. He appealed them to enroll themselves and participate in the forth coming elections with full enthusiasm.
Master trainer Fayaz Mehta also highlighted the use of VVPAT and EVM machine.
