Srinagar: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil joined the Sajad Lone-led Peoples Conference on Thursday. Vakil who had unsuccessfully contested 2014 elections as Congress candidate from Rafiabad constituency of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was welcomed into the PC by Lone and other leaders at a press conference in Srinagar Thursday. Vakil launched his own party, Jammu Kashmir Bachao Tehreek party in 2017. He resigned from Congress party in 2015. Vakil has served as Minister for Social Welfare in the PDP-Congress government.
