Jammu: Intensifying market checking to keep a close watch on the sale of deceptive packaged goods, a team of Legal Metrology Department Saturday booked 33 violators and recovered Rs 45100 fine from them.
The team conducted extensive checking of bakers’ shops , sweets shops, provisional stores, cake sellers and others in Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar, Marble market and its adjoining areas.
Around 33 traders were booked by the inspection team under various provisions of the Legal Metrology Act and rules for not marking mandatory declarations as per law which is required for the information of the consumers.
