Pulwama DDC inaugurates KVIB workshop on NSSH

Pulwama : District Development Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad Dar Friday inaugurated one day workshop on National Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Hub (NSSH) and other related schemes organized by Jammu and Kashmir Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), here at District Administrative Complex.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Officer KVIB Ahmadullah Malik, district officers of line departments, representatives of Director RSETI, JKEDI, DIC, Handloom, Handicraft, Chief Animal Husbandry, District Officer Sheep Husbandry and persons from targeted population were present on the occasion.
The workshop was organized for the dissemination of information about various schemes of the central and State Governments for welfare of scheduled caste/scheduled Tribe population.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said schemes like National ST/SC Hub are envisaged to impart entrepreneurial skills to ST/SC population to enable them to establish the MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises). He said NSSH can play a pivotal role in socio-economic development of these marginalized communities and bring them at par with the mainstream.
He said under the capacity building initiative of NSSH program, large number of SC/ST entrepreneurs will be imparted skill training by skill councils for establishing enterprises by formulating clusters.
He said in order to give upward flip to the business of MSEs owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs, the government has mandated 4% of total procurement by central Ministries, Departments and CPSEs from these MSEs.
Deputy CEO KVIB, briefed the tribal population about the benefits entailed under various self-employment schemes and flagship programs for inclusion of marginalized communities in developmental process. He also gave information about eligibility criteria and other parameters fixed by policy makers.
District Officer KVIB, Pulwama also gave a power point presentation about various self-employment schemes like Prime Ministers Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and flagship programs of Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Program.
