Leh/Jan,18: Ten persons were reported missing Fafter three vehicles came under an avalanche in Ladakh area of Jammu & Kashmir on Friday morning.
Reports said an avalanche hit Khardung La mountain pass Friday morning at 7.00 A.M adding that two tippers and a Scorpio car, carrying a total of 12 people, had left for Khardung La early Friday morning to load snow which was to be brought to Leh. A tipper, the reports said, had been loaded with snow while the other one was being filled with the same when the avalanche struck.
Border Roads Organisation under Project Himank has pressed into service its men with equipment to rescue the missing persons. Officials of the Project Himank said that the men and its machinery have been swiftly pressed into service to rescue the stuck persons. Rescue parties of the police, SDRF, Army and GREF have reached the spot, reports said.
