Srinagar: A counter insurgent team from Jammu Kashmir Police arrested an ‘active’ militant in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. The arrest was made during a nocturnal raid, said a police official.
He said that after receiving inputs about the presence of a militant in Chahlan village of Kulgam, a raid was conducted and the local militant was arrested.
The official identified the arrested militant as Mubarak Ahmed of Redwani Kulgam who according to him was active since October 2018.
The militant was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and was not carrying any arms during the raid.
