Jammu: District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, Wednesday reviewed the physical and financial progress on arious development works being executed under Border Area Development Program (BADP) in the district at a meeting convened with the concerned officers.
The DDC enquired about the physical and financial status of the ongoing works, number of schemes completed during 2018-19 as well the headway achieved so far on the works under progress.
The DDC, while reviewing works executed by RDD, was apprised of the progress of works of community halls, Panchayat Ghar and other related projects. He directed for timely completion of the works before the current financial year.
The DDC directed the officers to make all efforts to ensure adequate basic amenities to the people of border areas with emphasis on road connectivity, drinking water facilities, proper facilities of medical equipments in hospitals etc.
DDC asked the officers to keep check on the quality of works so as to create durable assets in the border villages. In this regard, he directed them to further gear up their men and machinery.
The works proposed during the current financial year included the construction of link roads, footpaths, provision of drinking water supply, construction of PHC buildings, development of power infrastructure, capacity building and skill development, construction of toilets particularly for ladies, construction of schools and play fields etc.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Aijaz Qasser, Block Development Officers, Block Medical Officers, Zonal Educational Officers, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, PWD besides senior functionaries of concerned departments.
