Rajnath’s self contradiction on Indo-Pak relations

Home Minister Rajnath Singh Monday virtually contradicted his own allegations against Pakistan over the attacks on army establishments in Uri Kashmir and Pathankote Punjab as he said “ no attacks from Pakistan under BJP rule”. Home Minister Rajnath Singh saying that no major attacks from Pakistan were witnessed during more than four and a half years BJP rule in the country is by all standards of understandabilities total contradiction of his own allegations against Pakistan over the attacks on army installations in Uri in Kashmir and Pathankote in Punjab border Jammu and Kashmir . Saying no attacks from Pakistan under BJP rule in the country also conveys a message that the incumbent Narendra Modi led BJP government at the centre was and is still taking lame excuses on the resumption of dialogue with Pakistan repeatedly demanded by Mehbooba Mufti during 22 month long PDP-BJP coalition rule in the state . Blaming Pakistan for attacks for more than two years and virtually withdrawing the allegations against the neighbouring country ahead of the commencement of Lok Sabha elections shows that the BJP government in Delhi tends to use relations with Pakistan and situation in Jammu & Kashmir as trumps cards for lok sabha and assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir . Interestingly two former police chiefs of Jammu & Kashmir K Rajendra and Kuldeep Khoda have recently regretted inconsistency in the policy of the successive central governments on situation in Jammu & Kashmir.

Today when the Home Minister Rajnath Singh says that no attacks from Pakistan were witnessed during more than four and half year BJP rule in the country, the PDP President and former Chief Minister reserves the right to ask Home Minister Rajnath Singh to cite reasons for rejecting her repeated demands for resumption of bilateral dialogue with Pakistan under the garb of his repeated allegations of involvement against Pakistan over the attacks at Uri in Kashmir and Pathankote in Punjab bordering Jammu & Kashmir state.

The timing choosen for contradicting his own allegations against Pakistan by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh shows that ahead of Lok Sabha elections the Narendra Modi led BJP Government tends to evade queries from people of the country on relations with Pakistan and the failure of its aggressive policy in Jammu & Kashmir resulting not only in killing of militants and also killing of civilians.
