Udhampur: In order to sensitize common masses in general and unemployed youth of the district in particular, Khadi Village & Industries Board (KVIB), Udhampur organized an awareness program under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), at Manwal Tuesday.
The program was attended by LDM (SBI) Bal Nehru, Director RSETI, Udhampur, Rajeshwar Gupta Functional Manager DIC, and other Branch Heads of different Banks and large number of Prospective Entrepreneurs.
The Lead District Manager, reviewed the progress of the Banks under PMEGP and directed the banks to speed up the process of sanctioning of cases. He informed that as per PMEGP Guidelines all cases should be cleared within 45 days after their online receipt in the bank. Banks were directed not to reject the cases on flimsy grounds. He described the PMEGP Scheme as one of the most beneficial initiative for the unemployed youth. He said after completion of the studies unemployed young people face a dilemma as to which profession they should choose for earning their livelihood and such awareness of such schemes comes to their help, guiding them for right way to choose as their career.
On the occasion, District Officer KVIB, Tilak Raj briefed the unemployed youth about the different schemes being implemented by KVIB such as Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP), J&K Rural Employment Generation Program (JK REGP), NSSH and Clusters under SFURTI. He further said these schemes have been launched to harness the energy and enthusiasm of the youth for establishment of productive enterprise in micro industrial sectors to create employment opportunities in different sectors.
