Handwara: At least ten shops were gutted in a massive fire in Prem Gali at Handwara main market in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district last night.
Reports said that the fire started from a shop at around 1 am during the night and soon engulfed the nearby structures.
“The shops were made of wood and were quickly engulfed in flames. The cause of fire was not immediately known,” said a police official.
Fire tenders from different parts of the district were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, he said.
