DDC Bandipora invites Expression of Interest for setting up ITES, BPOs

Bandipora: with an aim to create sustainable job opportunities for the youths, the District Administration intends to start IT operations by establishing Business Process Outsourcing (BPOs), Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) in Bandipora district.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary on Tuesday invited the Expressions of Interest for entrepreneurs to establish ITES, BPOs in the district.
Dr Choudhary said in the recent times Bandipora District has found exceptional ITES potential to emerge as one of the emerging districts in the country by adapting innovative practices aligning with the rapid changes.
He said the district administration of Bandipora in the past has created infrastructure and an ecosystem to promote education, skill development among the people in the district through various initiatives and a pool of skilled youth have been created who are qualified to join industry. He, however, said the current scenario in the job market and lack of sufficient industries in the state is making these qualified youth stay back homes rather than utilize their skills to earn their livelihood as very less people have migrated to other cities to work in industry.
Dr Choudhary said the initiation of IT operations in the district will help to create job avenues for those who got trained in various IT trades but are unable to utilize their skill to earn livelihood.
The administration on Tuesday invited Expression of Interest to attract entrepreneurs, investors and Multinational Companies (MNCs) in the IT/ITES BPO (voice/non-voice) to establish their business units complete in aspects including capacity addition, training in the district.
Stating that these entities will bring together much required job opportunities to the district there by creating jobs, Deputy Commissioner said the District Administration will provide baseline infrastructure for ease of establishment as a part of its commitment to provide better employment opportunities to the youth.
Last Date for obtaining the EOI forms have been set as January 17, 2019 while last date for submission of forms will be January 24. The bids will be opened on January 28 in presence of those bidders, who chose to be present. The details are present on the official website of the district administration www.bandipora.nic.in and the interested agencies may check further information on the website.
The district administration has also come up with a framework to promote business entities in the district, by offering many incentives in addition to existing state/central policies.
Giving details, Dr Choudhary said the administration will provide better infrastructure for the companies besides, Industry standard fiber optic connectivity from 2 ISP’s, Skill development/ Employee training incentive, Boarding for employees, 100% Power supply back up.
He said the successful agency will operate its business for a minimum of 2 years with minimum of 100 seats in one shift and shall work with district administration by providing required human resources to conduct reach out session to local youth and youth in neighboring districts; and any tech support.
He said the successful agencies will also reach out for identifying more IT/ITES entrepreneurs to operate business in the district and shall also work with the designated faculty of District e-Governance Society other educational institutions to enable them prepare for industry.
